backyard fairy tales

one night me and sean were at his friend kristians house drinking wine and making dinner. I went outside with him while he smoked a cigarette and i got lost in the idea of doing a photoshoot in his backyard. Kristian, a few glasses deep of cheap pinot noir was all for the idea. I dont think he knew the seriousness of my question. I was all for it, i knew exactly what i wanted to do. The next day 4 of us girls dressed up, got in andreas jetta and headed over there. We forgot it was superbowl sunday. We stumbled in the front door to find 7 guys, drunk off bud light and chicken wings in jerseys on the couch. They staired, confused, we stared back, confused. They asked "what the hell" we were doing. I reminded him and he said we looked crazy and then said of course. As we hurried by the screen we all knew the guys watched our little skirts move and laughed at the site of our 'gypsy' get ups. This is the day we got lost in his backyard.

semi...

Semi sweet is a band that I shoot photos for. I always like to change their name is posts, semi sour, semi full, semi confused... This photoshoot was for their new album cover. The album is called bitter sweet or something like that, so the whole idea was ants crawling on a lollipop. When we realized we wouldnt be able to find ants we ordered some offline. But leave it up to cassie to order RED fire ants! Oh well it went fine, infact it turned out great. Ill post the photos for the album in a couple weeks when they release it. I shot the cover with my nikon d70 on macro but also brought along my yashica for fun. These were the shots I took on the side.

out of date

a little expired film goes a long way. kevin works the milk man shift, i know what your thinking... there are still milk men? Answer is yes, he works from 12am-7am and delivers milk to houses and business. During the night he finds a good amount of what we call "treasures." Last month he found us two old trunks, and an old vintage gold mirror. AND a box full of expired 120 film. If i could describe my very own treasure chest it would indeed be filled with film. maybe not expired, but i enjoy the effect.
